Hi! Welcome to Dad Guide—a space dedicated to dads and dads-to-be looking for practical advice, guidance, and insights on how to be an active and supportive partner during one of life’s most incredible journeys: parenthood.
Why I Started This Blog
When my wife and I found out we were expecting in February of 2024, we were so excited to welcome this little one into the world. As weeks passed, I found myself falling behind as a partner because I was being a reactive partner & parent and not a proactive one. As we dove into birthing classes and research, the concept of invisible labor really started to dawn on me. I started asking myself things like: Why didn’t I start the registry? Why didn’t I help with the baby shower? How am I not thinking about these things?
I began researching and reading everything I could, and that’s when I noticed something important was missing—a key resource for dads. A Dad Guide! A resource for dads and by dads. A website to help dads and dads-to-be to think ahead, plan, and be an actionable partner. Gone are the days of the highly gendered home. Let’s start sharing the work and be the best parents & partners we can be!
As You Explore the Blog, Expect to Find:
Actionable Articles: Covering topics like postpartum care, newborn care, invisible labor, and more.
Infographics: Handy visuals you can save and reference when you need them most.
Guides: Step-by-step guides and lists that simplify the complexities of parenthood into digestible chunks.
Community Resources: Recommendations for books, dad groups, websites, and more.
Let's Build a Community
One of the main goals of Dad Guide is to build a community of partners who can share their experiences, learn from each other, and offer support. Feel free to ask questions, leave comments or message me with any topics you’d like covered.
